It's good that you chose to make Economics a minor because if you make it a major, you have to consider graduate studies (master's, PhD) which are super hard and pretty much not traditional Economics anymore, just Math. Lots of Math. More math than in a Mathematics major. Have you considered Political Science? That's mine. Haven't decided on a minor yet.

I don’t actually like getting into Politics at all. Despite my blog which is just a hobby for me, I don’t really talk too much about politics. I like writing and I love Literature. I am very satisfied with my degree.

If you are doing a PoliSci major then a minor is essential in my opinion. It’ll give you a focus on your degree and help push you towards a specific career goal. Doing a history on a specific topic is a great idea and one that I would do too. Most foreign languages are offered as minors which is a great addition to the major. If you want to go into Journalism and publications then a minor in writing or rhetoric would help very much.

What's your major, and what do you want it to be? Let me guess.. Philosophy and/or middle east studies (that exists in some universities)?

English Major and Economics Minor. I want to be a writer for a paper and maybe do some teaching English abroad.

Studying about the Middle East is just a hobby I developed growing up in a very political household and environment.

As for philosophy….no thanks

Middle Eastern Studies does exists in many institution here on the East Coast. It’s usually bulked into an Arabic Studies degree or under a specific history track.
